I'll lay in the rain, but don't wait up for me I'm yours melt into a storm drain, wash into the ocean forever to be rising on your shore Lord knows I don't care where I go if I'm with Lord knows I don't care Lord knows I don't care where I go as long as I'm with you I don't care Now I'm the rain, while others hide their heads your mine soak into your jacket, nestle in the fabric happy just to catch you in my storm so happy to have caught you in my storm Lord knows you don't care where I go if I'm with Lord knows you don't care Lord knows you don't care where I go as long as I'm with you You don't Careful what you wish for don't you know you'll miss more than you think That's what they say but they all stayed So use it as kindling, as a beginning something new that burns alone You'll find your home within yourself and wander places only time will tell We'll wander places only time will tell Lord knows I don't care where I go if I'm with Lord knows I don't care Lord knows I don't care where I go as long as I'm with Lord knows Lord knows I don't care where I go if I'm with Lord knows I don't care Lord knows I don't care where I go as long as I'm with you I don't care

Neon lights remind me of a place long past where tiny memories go waltzing in the moonlight and warm flickering gas lights illuminate the dark hall where lovers come to get lost So burn the map and let your heart guide your feet The weather's fine, the neon sun's aglow so let the liquor soak up your sorrow 'cuz there 'aint no use in wondering 'bout tomorrow When we get back home we'll buy a truck with peeling paint fill it with what we need and find a place that feels right and go waltzing in the moonlight You're not loosing if lost don't mean a thing You're only falling into the unkown So run on into the night and don't stop to say goodbye

Dead man talking The walk was long with our big packs but we caught the train on it's way down the tracks It was a pretty short ride to the heart of Spain and just a six block walk to the place we were staying Couldn't get a hold of Antonio we even tried yelling through the kitchen window but the music was turned up way too loud so we had to keep yelling til the man finally came around Dead man talking So he opened up the door and he gave us some beer I think his friends had been drinking since late last year They did lines off the table trying to kill the sun as that sweet soul music played on and on until hours later, when the battle was won Dead man talking on and on until hours later when the sun had come

Sometimes you're a million miles away I wouldn't mind, except I have to stay here all alone just trying to find a way to get on through Next time won't you please take me with you 'Cuz I don't know where we'll be when we're older but I hope I'm with you When the days get colder I'll be thinking of you Springtime you'll be headed back to school To the city and a life that's big and new Well make the most of it babe, I'll try to do the same but when you go won't you please come back again

about

Singer-songwriter Corey Distler has co-written five albums with the likes of Zinnie for Short, The Martyrs and The Sun-birds (where he met drummer Max Lilien). Dead Men Talking represents the first group in which he is the sole front man. Alongside long-time friends Max Lilien (The Fourth Wall, Southern Belle) and multi-instrumentalist Casey Becker (Project Eldridge), the music comes to life. At once it brings to mind classic bands of the 60's and 70's, but upon a closer listen reveals a modern twist that references indie rock and hints at Distler's music studies at Portland State University. Their first release is a dynamic 4-track EP that brings to life a bittersweet journey through a foreign land and the love that inspired it.
